Convincing Victory vs St. Marys
On Saturday, January 21st, the girls played one of the strongest games of the year against a much improved St. Marys squad winning in convincing style, 5-0.
Hailey made several stellar saves to keep our team in the game during the early moments of the first period. But, after a slow start that saw the team struggle to get the puck out of our own end, the girls turned things up, making several tic-tac-toe plays, playing excellent positional hockey and shooting every chance they got.
Each of our wingers were strong on the puck, digging in the corners and behind the net and making excellent decisions to either cycle the puck or pass in front. Our centres were positioned perfectly to either provide support or to receive a pass in the slot. Our forwards did a great job creating pressure in front of the net. The defense continued their strong, consistent play, each one skating with the puck on more than one occassion.
Let's keep it up as we get ready to go to Silverstick in Trenton!
