Novice Green's hard work pays off!
Parkhill was in town Saturday but the Green squad came to play.......
Puck drop was at 2:10pm on Saturday in Lucan against the North Middlesex Stars Blue team and both rosters seemed eager to get this game started.
The Irish swarmed the offensive zone immediately and scored two quick goals in the first minute when Kodie and Clara C. found the back of the net. Ashley B. and a second goal by Clara C. would round out the first period scoring with Kyle H. getting two assists, as Lucan kept the pressure on.
Chelsea S. was solid in net and kept the Stars off the board until late in the third when they snapped their only goal past her on the short side. Owen W. scored on a partial breakaway and Clara C. completed her hat trick to make it a 6-1 final.
All players were skating hard both ways and it was a great team effort that earned the team their first win of the season!
The Green squad has a big weekend coming up when South Huron travels to town at 1:00pm Saturday and then we are on the road to Parkhill Sunday for a rematch at 10am.
