For Shayne and Ryan D....
Lucan White were one of the many Novice
teams visiting the Nichols Arena today! The boys had another early
start where they were scheduled to take on one of the many Lambeth
teams, LL4. Both teams looked strong fighting hard to dominate the
game. The Lancers struck first late into the first period; however,
Lucan quickly fought back tying up the game with just over a minute
left in the first period. Two buried biscuits from the Lancers and
one from the Irish in the second fed Lucan's desire to finish off
the third period on a high note. With a loss in sight, Lucan White
turned up the heat and netted a beautifully assisted goal into the
back of the Lancers net bringing the final score to 3-3.
Only a short hour later Lucan White was back on the ice taking on their rivals Lambeth LL3. By the end of the first period the fans were scratching their heads and even checking the exits to ensure that our beloved team had not actually left the building. No matter what, Lucan White just did not have the juice to add a score to the tally board.
By 12:15, Lucan White was re-energized and there was no doubt only minutes into the game that this team was going to totally dominate! Talk about some teamwork! Believe me when I say that this win was a result of every single player's skill, teamwork and desire to win. Congratulations to our net minder Sammy R. who recorded yet another rookie shut out!
Despite their record today, Lucan White was happy with their finish and were ready to head to the finals and take on the Lambeth LL1 team. The team took the first period to warm up letting the Lancers dominate and successfully bypass our players slipping the puck past our goalie 3 times in the first period. The second period belonged to Lucan White where some great stick handling, passing, and back checking allowed Lucan to enter the offensive zone and slip it past their surprised goal tender. Both teams spent the third period attempting to defend their zones and despite Lucan's awesome efforts, and numerous shots on net, they were unable to clench the win.
Congratulations Lucan White, you worked hard today!
