North Middlesex March Break Tournament – March 15 – 17, 2013
Who says that “Hockey Night in Canada” only happens on Saturday night? This Friday night, Lucan White was ready to shut the season down with a “BANG”! Petrolia Grey was the first team introduced to the “Fighting Irish”...who we like to call Lucan Novice White. Both teams spent the first period warming up for the weekend. Not long into the second period Lucan lit it up dumping 3 goals into their opponent's net. With that momentum built, Lucan continued to hammer the brave Petrolia goalie with shot after shot ending the third period with an additional 3 goals finding the back of their mesh. Congratulations to Ryan D. for another recorded hat trick and to our rookie goalie Sam R. who was awarded the game MVP.

Lucan White's second victims traveled to Parkhill from Tilbury to take on the Irish. Out of nowhere, Tilbury scored on the Lucan net minder 30 seconds into the game. Shaking off the set back, Lucan White quickly retaliated finding the open ice and charging the offensive zone time after time. Lucan White continued to score shot after shot dominating each period. Never have I seen such impressive teamwork and passing amongst the players. Congratulations to Ethan P. who recorded another season hat trick and also picked up the game MVP award!

The third game had Lucan White scheduled to take on Mitchell. Lucan worked hard throughout the game to find their groove and were successful in scoring 2 goals on their opponents. Congratulations to Johnny V. for earning the title of game MVP and to our goalie Sam R., who with the assistance of his team, recorded yet another shut out!

On to the semi-finals where Lucan White was ready to show the world that they were here to win! Blenheim was definitely a strong opponent who made Lucan White fight for every success throughout the game. Lucan struck first late in the first period and with the assistance of the Blenheim team the tally board was reading 2-1 Lucan by the end of the second period. Lucan White sealed the deal late in the third assuring their advancement to the A FINALS!

The fans were on the edge of their seats shaking with anticipation as the Lucan White team took to the ice. This team was exuding confidence and were ready to fight for the coveted A title. Both teams worked hard to keep each other out of their zone. Lucan White was able to finally find the score board mid way through the second period; however, Harrow quickly followed it up with a goal a few minutes later leaving the game in a tie.

The teams continued to battle it out with Lucan dominating the third period. The shots on the Harrow net were beautiful and plentiful but no matter how hard we tried we were unable to get it past the goal tender. This exciting game was forced into overtime where the Harrow team was able to successfully sneak past our defense and score the winning goal. Congratulations to our game MVP Jake P. as well as to our Esso 2012/13 Achievement award winners: Shayne D. (Most Sportsmanlike), Ryan D. (Most Dedicated) and Nick D. (Most Improved).
