Introducing the Stars of Lucan White!
Thank you to the Lucan White team for providing me the privilege of being your “sports writer”; summarizing your successes week after week. Over the past several months we have been witness to some incredible hockey made possible by the determination, skill and teamwork of Lucan Novice White. Let me introduce you to the stars of this team...

Sam R. - Goalie - You would never believe me if I told you that this is Sam's (a.k.a. “The Wall”) first year playing goalie. Sam voluntarily took on the challenge of this position and has dedicated his season to improving himself game after game. Looking like a “superstar”, Sam has defended his net with some impressive butterfly, glove and “head shot” saves. Keep it up Sammie...you have had an awesome season!

Dylan
S. - Defense – Dylan is what I would call a reliable and solid stay-at-home defense man. Time after time, Lucan White could count on Dylan to protect his net minder by aggressively attacking the puck. Even a mid-season injury could not keep Dylan away from the rink. His commitment to supporting his team throughout his absence was commendable. Thank you Dylan...you displayed some great dedication this season!

Johnny
V. - Defense – “Let's go Johnny...let's go”! Johnny has the unique ability to pump up the team and the fans before a big game. His quick feet contributed to his lightening speed making nearly ever attempt at clearing the puck a successful one. Johnny was a reliable counterpart and worked well with his defensive partner to ensure that the puck never crossed his blue line. Whoot...whoot Johnny...don't ever lose that team spirit!

Ethan P. - Forward – It's a bird, it's a plane...no it's Ethan flying on blades around the ice. WOW can this boy skate hunting down players with his speed and making it look soooo easy! Throughout the season, Ethan's strength allowed him to easily break free from the crowd and successfully move the puck up the ice. Great job Ethan...it will be exciting to watch you continue to develop your talent.

Lucas
M. - Forward – If I were to ask any of the opposing teams I am sure that they would say that they completely underestimated Lucas as a player! Working in “stealth mode” Lucas would quietly move in on a player, snatch the puck and make a quick escape into the offensive zone. Lucas was a “digger” and improved greatly in his strength, skating and ability throughout the year. Super job Lucas...keep up the great work!

Jake P. - Forward – When Jake wasn't stick handling quickly up the ice he was moonlighting as a locker room disk jockey. A versatile player, and true leader on the ice, Jake demonstrated his maturity by ensuring each of his team mates had a chance to contribute to the game. Smooth hands, a hard wrist shot and great on the draw, Jake had an awesome ability to see the ice and anticipate the play. Fantastic year Jaker...love your #1 fan!

Shayne D. - Defense – Ladies and Gentlemen...I think that we have witnessed a “legend” in the making. So early in his hockey career, Shayne has successfully managed to master the point position. His strength has been his ability to read the play, hang back and support his goalie when needed and find his open team mates setting them up for the perfect goal. Keep it up Shayner...don't be afraid to take it all the way...please!

Ryan D. - Forward
– Who knew that challenging your brother to a game of hockey in the basement could bring someone so much success! Ryan's repeatedly demonstrated his strengths by consistently winning the draw and stripping the other players of the puck. No one will ever know how this all round player could effectively...and repeatedly...and with one hand...capture the puck, deke the opposing team and make a shot on net. Congratulations Ryan...your unique talent will continue to drive the opposing defense crazy!

Jayden
H. - Forward – Jayden is who some would call “The Closer”. Jayden performed some good solid work out in front of the net and was successful in making sure that he was open for the pass. Jayden also made a great and reliable “wing man” moving the puck up the ice with his team making some strong shots on net...rebounds were his specialty! Awesome job Jayden...keep on digging!

Carter
H. - Forward – Well the old saying goes...“practice makes perfect” and it wasn't unusual to find Carter practicing his wrist shot outside the dressing room before each game. Carter has a constant hunger for the puck and he worked well with his other team mates to move the play up the ice. Over the year, Carter committed himself to improving his positioning and skating which contributed to his success in making numerous shots on net. Way to go Carter...you should be very proud of yourself!

Blake
H. - Forward – Don't let his calm and quiet demeanor fool you...Blake is a force to be reckoned with! Over the season Blake became increasingly more aggressive digging hard for the puck keeping his eyes up and successfully passing the puck to his team mates each and every time. Whenever Mom wasn't watching, Special Agent Blake loved to put the puck in the back of the opponent's net. Awesome season Blaker...“don't back up...don't back down...full throttle...wide open”!

Mathew D. - Defense – Mathew is who I like to call “The Enforcer”. Time after time, and game after game, Mathew held the line and used his big “boomer” to clear the puck from the zone or take a shot on net. His confidence and skill allowed him on more that one occasion to successfully carry the puck up the ice and make attempts on the opponent's net. Way to go Matty...keep working hard!

Nick
D. - Forward – Lucan White fans could always count on Nick to put on a show for the stands! Throughout the year, Nick became stronger and stronger on his skates and had some incredible and strong shots on net. He was great at positioning himself for the pass and worked aggressively to clear the puck from his zone. Great season Nick...keep on smiling !
