Friday Night at the Gardens
On Friday February 28 your tyke green took to the ice agains Ilderton Jets White at the Budweiser Gardens

With emotions and nerves running in  overtime we took to the ice ready to have some fun.  With a couple quick changes to our "rules" we played 2 min shifts instead of our regular 3 and with set positions we were up for the challenge.

A last minute goalie change saw the exchanging of the pads between brothers to see Kyle V. become our protector of the twine for the second time this season and boy was he ready to go.  Stopping multiple shots and covering the puck at any chance to allow his team to regain control of the play.

It was clear from the drop of the puck that if we were going to come out on top of the score sheet it was going to have to be a team effort. With Face-offs being of the utmost importance we turned to Owen C. Josselyn V. and Colin W. to get the job done and get the job done they did with multiple face off wins this trio allowed us to gain the zone.  Next was the Tough Task of work along the boards we turned to our power forwards Ethan H. Colin W. Christian F. and Presley B. who sprung multiple players for offensive rushes and scoring chances.

Your defence pairings for the evening were Cohen S. and Cash M. who worked well together to clear the zone and help their forwards Drive the net.  Cohen S. would Start the scoring off with a defensive zone break out play from a pass along the boards from Cash M.  Cohen would later go on to add 2 more goals on the evening which solidified his first hat trick on the big ice.

Your next defensive pairing was Lane H. and Drew K. who also provided some outstanding back checking to stop the jets at almost any opportunity that they had and also had some good work in the offensive zone narrowly missing the net on scoring opportunities.

The Play of the evening which resulted in the go ahead and GAME WINNING GOAL was that standard tyke green No quit attitude in front of the net by one Claire W. who managed to pocket her first of the season and allow us to take the game . Great work Claire.

This was a great evening the kids had great time thanks to all the parents and helpers who took the extra time off to allow this to happen it was a night i am sure the kids will never forget!

Great Work Green
