Bronze Medal Game
Despite the heartbreaking loss yesterday, Tyke White earned a spot in the Bronze Medal game at the John Henry Memorial Tournament in Strathroy.  Our opponent...Strathroy Red...again!!

It is day four of the tournament, the team is tired, they have played there hearts out, but we have one more game to play....can we keep the momentum for one more game??  Megan is between the posts again today, and her smile is telling the team she is ready.  The change room is a little quieter, but the players are ready, they want to go out, play hard, and have fun....and maybe win Bronze.
It was scoreless for almost the first 20 min of the game.  Our defence was hot, and Strathroy was not getting through.  We had some good attempts on the Strathroy net, but could not find the net.  Then, with some awesome assistance from Nicole and Grayson, Will put the puck in to make it 1-0.  The game continued and the players continued to keep their fans on the edge of their seats with fantastic defence and heartstopping goal tending.  Finally, Lucan had a break away and the fans went to their feet as they watched  Jayden, Quinten, and Lucas head to the Strathroy net.  Lucas shoots....and scores!!  Strathroy, however, soon made it clear, they were not giving up, as they snuck one by to make it a one point game.  Lucan was digging deep and they were trying hard, but Strathroy went on a bit of a scoring streak and moved ahead of Lucan into a 6-2 lead.  Did we give up...no!  With the help from Lachlan and Tristan, Zane took aim and scored his first goal of the game.  Strathroy would score again, but we still did not give up. The White team played hard and with only 20 sec left, Will found the net one more time with help from Tristan and Grayson.  So, as the final buzzer sounded, Lucan White may not have won, but the fans were on their feet cheering for a team of hockey players that demonstrated strength, endurance, team work, and good sportsmanship in four amazing games.  The final....fourth place finish out of 12 Tyke teams.
Go Tyke White Go!!
