Lucan Continues to Roll
Lucan had 3 games over the last two weekends against some tough competition but they were up for the task!

First up was a match against the St. Mary's Sharks, Lucan was looking to avenge a lose a couple weeks earlier.  The first period was a fast paced battle with both teams getting their chance but unable to get the puck by the goalies.  Lucan took a penalty with one minute to play in the first period.  Lucan killed the first half of the penalty and at the end of 1st period the score was tied 0-0.  Lucan struck earlier in the second while still killing the penalty Dylan F. scored on a great pass from Tyler F. to make it 1-0.  St. Mary's would tie the game up 5 minutes later but Lucan would respond quickly on another great team effort.  Tyler F. would score with assist going to Carson V. and Dylan F.  At the end of 2 the score was 2-1 Lucan.  The third period would be a scoring frenzy  Lucan would go up 3-1 on a great goal from Carter H. with assist going to Mason G. and Carter L.   St. Mary's quickly responded to make it 3-2.  Tyler F. was up again scoring his second of the game with Aiden M. and Dylan F. drawing the assists.  With Lucan leading 4-2 St. Marys would pull within one with 12 minutes to play in the game.  This was a well played game on both sides.  The defence was playing great, the forwards were buzzing hard in the offence zone and the goalies were on their game.  With 6 minutes left St. Mary's would even the game at 4s and that is how the game would end.  Great game team!  Bobby M. was between the pipes and played a great game.  Joel M. was the player of the game with his strong defense play limiting the chances of the St. Mary's team.  Joel was also very reliable in getting the puck out of our end by passing or carrying the puck.  Keep it up Joel.

Lucan would play Mt. Brydges Blue next and the boys were ready to play.  They absolutely dominated the first period outshooting and out chancing the Blue team.  Three minutes into the game Lucan would be up 2-0.  Dylan F. would start the  scoring 1 minute in and Carter L. would make it 2-0 with Dylan F. getting the assist.  Blue would score one before the end of the first making the score 2-1.  Lucan would regain the 2 goal lead early in the second on another pretty tic-tac-toe goal  Joel M.  would make a pass to Tyler F. who passed to Dylan F. who deflected the puck into the top of the net.  Great team work guys!  Lucan would get one more goal on a nice end to end rush from Joel M. and in the end the Lucan would win the game 4-3.  The kids continue to impress the coaches with their great play.  The defence was stellar, Joel, Aiden, James and Carson played great, getting the pucks up to the forwards and keeping the pucks in the offensive zone.  They have also been great a carrying the puck out of our end when needing to as well.  Goaltending was stellar as well Bobby M. was on his game and faced  many breakaways but was able to shut the door, time and time again.  Up front the forwards continue their unselfish play making great passes, going to the net, winning their battles and coming back to help the defence and goalie.  Great work all around kids.  Player of the game was Carson V., who had a great game on the point.  Tyler F. would also get a chocolate bar to celebrate his birthday.  Happy Birthday Ty.

Next up was an early Sunday morning game against Mt. Brydges White.  Lucan who has been playing their best hockey of the year continued to dominate the play against a very strong White Team.  Lucan would buzz all over the ice yet again getting many shots and halfway through the first would take a 1-0 lead on a goal from Dylan F.  Assists going to Tyler F. and Aiden M.  White would tie up the game quickly.  Next shift Ben F. would pass up to Carter H. who would take a shot on the net, the puck would bounce of the goalie pad and with Gordon L. in his office (the front of the net) Gordon would make no mistake and score the second goal of the game.  Carter L. would make it 3-1 on a goal mouth scramble pushing home a hard fought goal!  White would respond only to see Lucan score to make it 4-2.  Dylan F would score his second with Joel M. and Carter L. earning the assists.  White would score to make it 4-3 with seven minutes to play but Lucan would not panic.  Two minutes later Lucan would ice the game on a breakaway goal from Tyler F.,  assists going to Carter L. and Dylan F.  The line of Carter H. Ben F., Gordon L and the defensive pair of Carson V and James V. would shut the White team down the final two minutes to preserve the win.  Bobby M. was the man between the pipes again and had another stellar game, enough to make him the player of the game.  Great work Bobby and great work team!

Next week Lucan will host Mt. Brydges Gold.  Keep up the great play boyz!!!
