Lucan Tyke Gold was back in action on Tuesday night as we packed our road jerseys and travelled to Ilderton to play the Jets.

This game marked our second meeting of the season with the Ilderton White, and our second midweek game in as many weeks. The boys and girls were all jokes & laughs in the dressing room, but all business on the ice!

The Gold team started the game quickly and jumped out to an early lead thanks to the hardworking forward line of Kohen Wickens, Ethan Lambourn and Colin “Young Blood” Dalton. Ethan was playing forward for the first time all season but looked like he’s played there for years, parking himself in the slot & owning the corners! Our triple threat line of Roman Chalmers, Emma Genttner and Sofie Pearn were contributing at both ends of the ice and giving the Ilderton defenders fits all game. Great job Forwards!

Our Defensemen Brycen Watson, Bryce Robichaud and Lachlan Gilcrest played terrific yet again, protecting our net, skating hard and pinning the Jets in their end. Our Defense also contributed offensively in a big way, jumping on loose pucks, leading the rush and scoring a few goals of their own! Making his return to the Gold crease was Jacob Gillard, and he picked up right where he left off - playing terrific! Jacob stopped numerous great scoring chances and was stingy on the rebounds all night. It wasn’t until the late stages of the game that the Jets were finally able to slip one in. Great job Jacob and the Defense!

For his heads up hockey while playing both forward and defense, Lachlan was awarded the Positional Player of the Game! For his amazing end-to-end rushes, hard work and positive attitude, Brycen was awarded the Hockey Hall of Fame Ambassador of the Game! Great job Lachlan & Brycen, keep up the good work guys!

Team Gold’s next game action this coming Saturday as we travel north to take on Exeter White. Go Gold Go!
