The Boys and Girls from Lucan Tyke Gold were back in action this past Saturday as we invaded South Huron to play the White Sabers.

Team Gold picked up right where they left off the previous game, skating hard and working as a team.

We had some new forward line combinations for this contest, as Lachlan Gilcrest centered John Robson and Ethan Lambourn. This trio were hustling all over the ice and making sure to help out their friends on defense when needed. Our other forward line had a new look as well, with Colin Dalton playing center for the first time all season, flanked by wingers Sofie “The Rocket” Pearn and Emma Genttner. This forward unit was clicking as well, buzzing in all three zones and creating chances in Exeter’s end. Great job Forwards!

Roman Chalmers lined up on defense for the first time this season as well, and stood tall. With the help of veteran defenders Jacob Gillard and Brycen Watson, the Exeter attackers were not given much room to operate in our zone. Our defense also helped out the forwards by making good first passes, joining the rush and holding the offensive blue line, great job Defense!

Kohen Wickens was between the pipes for Team Gold and played great once again, challenging the shooters, playing well positionally and making numerous tough saves. In fact, Kohen did not allow a single goal against to register his second shutout of the season! Great job Kohen!

For her good positioning in our end and fearlessly battling for loose pucks, Emma was awarded the Positional Player of the Game! For his hustle up and down the right wing, team play and positive attitude, John was awarded the Hockey Hall of Fame Ambassador of the Game! Great job Emma & John, keep up the good work!

Team Gold’s next game action this coming Saturday morning as we travel to Point Edward, as well as playing host to Ilderton on Sunday morning. Go Gold Go!
