The Atom girls had their first tournament this weekend and it was a great weekend of hockey.
The girls were undefeated and had no goals scored against them in round robin play.
We faced off with Mitchell for the first game and Mooretown in the second game. Those games ended in a 0-0 tie. Cadence Heywood was able to put 2 between the pipes during the 3rd game against Mt. Brydges. Erin Rollings added another goal in the 3rd period to finish the game with a 3-0 win. Assists went to Gracie Papple, Ashley Beattie, Cadence Heywood and Lucy Petrie. Our fourth game was against Lambeth. The girls held onto a 0-0 tie that advanced them into the semi-finals. The semi-final game was against a very strong Grey Highland team. All the girls worked very hard but they shut us out and we were defeated 3-0. The whole team played their hearts out. Chelsea Smith had a fantastic weekend in net with 4 shut outs.
The tournament team consisted of Chelsea Smith, Ashley Beattie, Natalie Chalmers, Kaija Smith, Sarah Foster, Gracie Papple, Cadence Heywood, Lucy Petrie, Grace Cook, Keira Pocock, Paisley Weber, Melanie Moossdorff and Erin Rollings. Well done girls!
