North Middlesex Tournament Day 1
Lucan had an early start to the North Middlesex March break tournament, with a tilt against the North Middlesex Stars.
This was a goaltenders duo from the drop of the puck. Owen M. was unbelievable between the pipes. The Stars goalie was also on his game make huge saves and keeping our tyke white squad off the scoreboard.
Lucan would open the scoring with 1:24 to play in the first period on a goal mouth scramble with Aiden S. burying the lose puck into the open net. The Stars would respond with a goal of their own half way through the second to tie the score at 1. The Stars would then take 2-1 lead on a goal that barely crossed the line. From this time on the kids were on a mission and with 37 second remaining in the second Macy F would tie the game at two. The third period would see no more goals but only because the goaltending was outstanding. In the end the teams would fight to a 2-2 tie. Tournament player of the game went to Brooke H. Brooke was an offensive force for tyke white and had one of her best games of the year. The Coaches hardest worked went to Brady H. Brady had a very strong game himself shutting down the Stars when on defense and working hard in the offensive zone when playing forward. Great Job Brady and Brooke!
The next game Lucan was up against East Lambton Eagles. Lucan had another great game. Andrew B. was in net and was called upon often to makes saves to keep us in the game. Lucan would find themselves down 5-0 with seconds to play in the second. The great thing about this team is they never give up. Owen M. would score a beauty on a great effort by Elliott H. to chase down the puck and get to Owen . Owen M. would score one other goal and take home the Tournament player of the game for his efforts. Awesome work Owen!
Now that all super sport hardest works have been given out, coaches have decided to give out 3 stars award. The Three stars of the game where Elliott H., Malory D. and Aiden S.
Next up for Lucan is a repeat match against North Middlesex at 2pm today.
