A great end to the season!!
What a season!.. We played our final league game of the season on sunday against Mt.Brydges Red.. This team had taken it to us earlier in the season but sunday was a different story.. Though we still weren't able to pull out the "W" we had them on their heels plenty and held them in the neutral zone for much of the game.. Mason Barker stood tall in our net and was stingy with goals and Mackenzie Smith scored a decisive goal for us!.. It was a fantastic effort for our last game of the year.. Thank you team green for an amazing season.. The team staff and I are very, very proud of all of you!!..
After our final league game.. Lucan green faced what may be their toughest opponents of the year as the Tyke Green Mom's took to the ice to try their luck against our Green Warriors!.. They even had to bring in an ex-pro goalie (our very own Corey Bilcke) to back stop their efforts.. The mom's surprised everyone watching with skill, speed and (grace?).. The mom's poured it on and tried everything to stop the kids but in the end they gave up a 5-3 win to the youngsters.. Great job Mom's.. You did yourselves proud!!.. With our season in the books.. I would like to thank every one of our parents for your support all season long.. Early mornings, snow storms and all of the challenges that come along with hockey season.. You all played a huge role in creating the positive atmosphere the kids need to succeed.. Thank you as well to Melissa Campbell, Corey Bilcke, Jeremy Parsons and Ryan Freiter.. Without your commitment to our team none of this would have been possible.. Until next year.. GO GREEN GO!!!
