Novice Rep - 6th Annual Austin Holley Fall Shoot-Out Champions!
Congratulations to the boys for a stellar performance and being crowned the Gold Medalists and Champions of the 6th Annual Austin Holley Fall Shoot-Out.  Way to go boys!

Every player contributed and it was great to see all the boys really come together as a team.  This was a great experience that has brought the boys closer together and they all had a blast!  All the boys did a great job representing Lucan Minor Hockey and for the special events Kyle Van Hooydonk represented us well in the Break-away contest and Nathan Fedyk represented us well in the Shoot-out contest.  What was evident was that the boys brought an exemplary competitive attitude and effort each shift.  Their compete level was high!

Every player has chosen a word or phrase to play by for the year and we focused on a few this weekend.  The boys rallied around one another and some examples we focused on were:

"Win the Battles"

- we focused on bringing a high compete level to each shift and helping one another by winning each battle

"Friends" - how do friends treat one another? They stick up for one another and they trust their teammates to do their job and give their all for one another.

"Hustle" - hustle and give your best effort every time you set foot on the ice

As we handily won our first 3 games we focused on SO WHAT, NOW WHAT!  SO WHAT we won every game by a large margin but we have to respect our opponents and for the Gold Medal Game we focused on NOW WHAT! You've all performed so well up until now - so finish this thing off!  It was up to the boys and they did the hard work and are CHAMPIONS.  The coaches are proud of how the boys competed and gave their all, they listened and were attentive to the coaches, and they gave the best effort we've seen so far this year.  Let's keep it up as we face more fierce competition down the road.  As we've said all year thus far, bring your best effort every shift, every practice, and in everything and no matter what the scoreboard says you boys are WINNERS!

Let's keep the compete level high and focus on the little things and we'll look forward to continued success. Now that the boys have had a taste of success let's all keep them thirsty to give it all they have every time they're on the ice.

Thanks to the parents for a great weekend and festivities!

See you all at the rink soon.

Coach James.
