Lucan IP Team Blue
The Lucan IP Blue Team has had a very busy last few weeks!
Team Blue has been working hard all season at Friday night practices and weekend games. Our matchups versus the other Lucan IP teams are always close and entertaining. The kids enjoy taking turns in net, defense & forward, and squaring off against their friends on the other teams.
On February 24th & 25th, we hit the road for our first away games of the season in Ilderton and Huron Park. The Boys and Girls represented Lucan well, playing hard and working together. Coincidentally, in Ilderton we got to cheer on the Canadian Mens Olympic Hockey team as they won their Bronze medal game, just before the start of our ours. It was fun to see the kids excited and a great inspiration for us!
This past weekend, together with our fellow Lucan IP teams and IP teams from Exeter, we took part in the South Huron IP Jamboree tournament. It was busy day, with 3 games on the schedule plus various off-ice activities for the kids to enjoy. The games were fast and furious, with great goals and great saves at both ends. All their practice paid off as Team Blue was passing like grizzled veterans and scoring at a torrid pace on the big stage! The kids also got a big kick out of using the Junior C dressing room, with cool benches and loud music! A big thanks to South Huron Minor Hockey and all their Coaches, Staff, Parents, Sponsors and Volunteers for hosting us, it was definitely one of the highlights of our year.
Team Blue has a full schedule for the rest of March, where we'll continue to rock practices and roar into games versus our rivals Team White, Black & Red.
