Our Lucan U13B Girls Team participated in the annual South Huron Pink on the Rink Girls Hockey Tournament December 2-4.
Our Girls had been practicing hard in preparation, and came out flying in the round robin! All the games were competitive, hard-fought battles against our rivals from St. Marys, Idlerton and Huron Heat, our Girls notching narrow victories in each.
The Sunday morning semifinal saw our Girls square off in a rematch versus the Heat. Our Girls came out strong, firing in beautiful goals, with dazzling Defense &
impenetrable Goaltending from Ava, giving us a birth in the Finals Sunday afternoon!
In the Championship Game we locked horns again against our highway 7 rivals, St. Marys. The Goaltenders for each Team took center stage once again, making save after amazing save at both ends! The crowd was electric and lived & died with every shot taken, as the play flew from end-to-end! Both Teams were going all out, blocking shots and battling hard for every inch of ice! Finally, in the dying minutes of the third period, Lucan fired a shot that found the back of the net to take the lead! And added an empty-netter to secure the Tournament win!

Congratulations to all the other Lucan Teams in the Tournament, and all the other participating Teams, it was fun to watch and a great celebration of Girls Hockey! And thanks to South Huron Minor Hockey for organizing the Tournament once again this year and hosting us, always a highlight of our season!
