January 12, 2013 - Ilderton Blue vs. Lucan White
Lucan White was scheduled to challenge
Ilderton Blue this afternoon and what a battle it turned out to be.
Ilderton struck first early into the first period but Lucan White
fought back quickly burying a goal in the opponents net a couple of
minutes later.
Ilderton continued to apply the pressure following up with another goal against Lucan with 2 minutes left in the first period. Lucan White would have nothing of that and slipped another past the Ilderton goaltender ending the first period in a 2-2 tie. The second period was a fascinating sight as the Lucan White players successfully defended their zone and hunted down anyone who entered it. With only a few minutes into the third period, Ilderton dumped another goal into the home team's net and were able to hold the lead for the remainder of the period. Lucan White continued to fight to the very last second applying the pressure and attempting to tie the game. As the buzzer sounded, Lucan White knew that they had lost this battle but were proud of the effort that they put forth today. Ethan P. was a Lucan White player who stood out from the crowd today skating his hardest and shutting down their offensive players. His lightening speed earned him the title of game MVP. Way to go Lucan White!
