Lucan travel to Wiarton to Participate in the Austin Holley Memorial Tournament
Lucan Green went to Wiarton October 26th weekend

Parents and player alike were very excited to play in their first tournament of the year. The team had a great time and loved that they were together the whole weekend.

First game of the weekend, Lucan was matched up with the home town team Bruce Peninsula Wild. Lucan got off to a very quick start with Dylan F. scoring just seconds into the game. Lucan made it 2-0 a couple minutes later with Dylan F. burying the puck on a pass from Gordon L..  Lucan continued to buzz all over the ice, Carter L. got the next goal on a pass from Dylan F..  Carter H. was up next scoring on a pass from Tyler F. and Gordon L..  Dylan F. made it 5-0 on a nice passing play from Carter L. and Aiden M..  Dylan F. closed out the scoring in the first with assist going to Aiden M..  After the first period the coaching staff shuffled the lines around and it was now the defence men’s chance to score. Joel M. scored a beauty on a great pass from Carter H. and Mason G.. Carson V. scored the first of the year with fellow defence men Bobby M. earning the assist. Not to be outdone Bobby M. scored his first of the year as well with Carter H. getting his second assist of the game.  Ben F. joined the scoring train with 5 minutes left in the game on an unassisted effort. In the end Lucan won a very dominating team performance 10-0. Every single position player registered a point in this match, great accomplishment team! Player of the game went to Dylan F., who also got a Hat Trick Toque. James V. who shut out the Wild with a couple wonderful saves earned the Shut out Toque.

The two team reps then participated in the Shoot-out completion.  The week prior we had a team completion.  The top goalie and player in the completion would earn the right to take part in the Shoot-out.  Bobby M. was the winning goalie and Joel M. was the winning shooter.  The competition was a combination of an obstacle course and a shoot-out.  The boys represented the Irish very well.  Both boys were in the lead during the obstacle course but lost their edges on the final turn.  Bobby M. played great in the shoot-out, and Joel M. won the competition for the shooter.  Great work boys!

Next up for Lucan Green was Shallow Lake Lakers.  Lucan started the game just like the first one with a goal by Dylan F. fifteen seconds into the game, Joel M and Aiden M earned assists.  Lucan went up 2-0 thirty seconds later on a goal from Carter H. with assist going to Dylan F. and Aiden M..  Shallow Lake stormed back with a goal of minutes later only to have Lucan quickly reply on a goal from Dylan F., James V. and Mason G. credited with the assists.  Shallow Lake and Lucan would trade goals before the end of the period.  At the end of the first period it was 4-2.  Lucan would score three in the second period with Shallow Lake responding only once.  The boys were swarming all over the ice, limiting the Lakers chances and creating a lot of offence.  Dylan F. and Tyler F. were credit with second period goals with Carter H. getting the assist.  Lucan and the Lakers would trade goals in the third period and cruise to an 8-4 victory.  Goal scorer in the last period was Carter L. with assist going to Dylan F.  This was another great team effort for Novice Green.  Carson V. played great in net for Lucan stopping many point blank shot as well as stopping a couple of breakaways.  Player of the game went to Joel M.  Dylan F. earned his second Hat-Trick toque.

After the game the entire team went back to the Hotel, for an exciting night of swimming and knee hockey for the kids.

Sunday Lucan played Paris WolfPack in the A championship.  Paris would be a very strong opponent.  They had yet to allow a goal.  Paris got off to a quick start and before Lucan knew it was 5-0.  Lucan played a lot better in the second period holding Paris to just one goal and also getting their first goal of the game.  Goal went to Dylan F. on a nice passing play from Joel M. and Gordon L.  Bobby M. manned the net for Lucan and was peppered with shots the entire game.  Player of the game went to Carter L. who had a very good game in the losing effort.
