First off, for those that don't know me - my name is Shawn Morrison and I will be the head coach of the novice rep team for the 2012/2013 season.
I just wanted to send a quick note to those interested in trying out for the Lucan competitive Novice team this year with a few details of the process we will be going through.
At the moment it looks like there will be 10 skaters with 1 goalie...There may also be affiliate players(AP) signed for the season who will be invited to attend some rep practices as well as play games when the team is short players.
The fee for tryouts is $50.00. This fee entitles each player to 2 practices. The tryout schedule is as follows (please note: this schedule is also posted on the Lucan Minor Hockey website - http://lucanminorhockey.net)
Try-out #1 - Wednesday, September 5, 2012 - 5:00 to 5:50
Try-out #2 - Friday, September 7, 2012 - 5:30 to 6:50
Exhibition Game #1 - Saturday, September 8, 2012 - 10:00 in Ilderton
Try-out #3 - Monday, September 10, 2012 - 5:00 to 6:00
Exhibition Game #2 - Saturday, September 15, 2012 - 10:20 in Lucan vs. Ilderton
After the second try-out, an updated player list will be posted on the website...if you are being asked to continue with the tryout process your name will be on the list...those not listed will be asked to report to the first Novice L/M ice time on Sunday, September 16 at 2:30.
For those not interested in trying out for the "rep" team there is development ice starting on Sunday, September 9, 2012 if you wish to get out for a skate. Players trying out for the team are welcome to attend the development ice as well...check the Lucan Minor Hockey website for details and cost.
I encourage everyone to sign up for the email and text alerts that are available on the Lucan Minor Hockey website home page in the bottom left corner. Please also be vigilant in checking the website for schedule changes.
Once the team is picked for the year I will have details on the various parent volunteer positions needed that can be used against bond requirements.
