Welcome to U15 Tier1 Tryouts
My name is James Chalmers, and I’ll be coaching the U15 Girls Tier 1 team for the upcoming 2025–2026 season.  I’ve been coaching in Lucan for over a decade across various age groups, and I bring playing experience from Junior, NCAA Division 1, and the AHL levels. If we attract the same level of talent as last year, our goal is to compete at the A level. Players on this team will grow their understanding of the game, develop their hockey IQ, and thrive in a culture built on respect, hard work, and fun.

I’ve also coached Varsity High School hockey in the U.S. and have led several summer hockey camps.

We’re looking forward to an exciting and competitive season.  If we attract the same level of talent as last year, our goal is to compete at the A level. Players on this team will grow their understanding of the game, develop their hockey IQ, and thrive in a culture built on respect, hard work, and fun.

Your daughter will be part of an environment that encourages competitiveness, strong team values, and personal growth.  We focus on creating a positive, teaching-based atmosphere where effort and attitude drive improvement.  This past season, we had a successful run—reaching both Provincials and the Best of the Best League Championship Game. There’s a strong competitive spirit in this age group, and we aim to continue building on that momentum.  We welcome players who are eager to improve, committed to their teammates, and ready to contribute to a positive team dynamic both on and off the ice.

My coaching philosophy is simple: create a space where players love coming to the rink, take pride in working hard, support each other, and grow both as hockey players and individuals. If your daughter is driven, has the right mindset, and wants to learn, Lucan will be a fantastic place for her to play and develop.
