U18C Rep International Silver Stick Finalists 23/24
The U18C Rep Lucan Irish were in Forest Jan 5-7th, 2024 competing at the International Silver Stick tournament. The team finished 2nd at their Regional tournament last weekend in Petrolia after losing the final in OT to East Lambton Eagles. Our Irish were invited as finalists to compete against the other Champions at the International tournament.
After a Game 1 loss to the Douro Dukes, the team battled back to finish 3-1 with only 5 goals against. They claimed wins over the Shelburne Wolves (Wasaga Beach Regional Champs), Huron-Bruce Blizzard (Wingham Regional Champs) and the Arran Elderslie Ice Dogs (Wingham Finalists).
That led to a Petrolia Regional rematch against the East Lambton Eagles in the International semi-final. Irish came out on top this time with an impressive 4-0 win to send them to the finals against undefeated Douro. Irish fell 3-0 in the final, finishing an impressive 2nd place.
Weston Gower (forward) and Joel Morrison (defence) were chosen to the International U18C "All-Star Team". An award given to players who are chosen based on their ability, sportsmanship and conduct throughout the tournament. Congratulations.
