What a fun St. Marys tournament
Lucan Mite White played a couple of strong games during a March Break tournament in St. Marys on March 14.
The first game was a 7-2 win against Belmont. Strong backchecking, puck control and some nice passes meant Lucan was in control from early on in the game.
The second game was a close loss 6-4 to Embro.
The Lucan players tried really hard to backcheck in this game, and it was good to see some results saving goals. There were also some good saves in net, and some good clearing of pucks from around the net by the Lucan players.
The players then took part in a team skills competition against Embro later on in the afternoon. The Lucan team speed showed up in a strong showing in a skating relay. They also did well in another relay, this time testing agility through stepping over sticks, skating around pilons and diving to the end under a stick at the other end of the ice.
There were also some great saves and shots during a shootout competition.
The players proudly got their medals at the end of the day.
The coaches were proud of how the players competed and skated throughout the day, with lots of effort, and also how well the kids behaved and represented Lucan. Way to go guys and girls!
