Seaforth Tournament Champs
The Lucan Novice boys travelled to Seaforth to play in the SMHA Novice Tournament and came home champions.

This tournament brought out the best of all of the boys.

We got unbelievable goaltending, James V kept the boys in the game when we had a couple breakdowns as he has the whole year.  He also stood on his head in the final game against a strong BCH team.

Each of our forwards would registered at least one goal.  The forwards were always swarming the opponents defense, causing turnovers and burying their chances in front of the net.  On the defensive side of the puck the boys fought hard to come back and help the defense and James stop the advances of the opponents.

Our defense was solid as usual, limiting the scoring chances of the opponents while being key to our offense as well; with good outlet passes in our zone and pinching to keep the puck in when in the offensive zone.  All defense would register at least one assist in the tournament.

As a team, the boys would have to overcome some adversity early in the Goderich game being down 2-0 three minutes in.  This team did not panic and the boys would come together and outscore Goderich 10-2 the rest of the way.  Other than those three minutes Lucan would not trail in any game.

There was a shoot-out competition at noon on Saturday and anyone could sign up.  The boys that chose to enter would represented Lucan very well.  Carson V., Luke A., Ryder O., Tyler F., Dylan F. and Ben F. were the shooters and all would show their scoring prowess in the first round and move onto the second.  James V. was solid in the net and would also advance.  Many of the parents seemed conflicted for who to cheer for when James would face the Lucan shooters.  After a whirlwind 50 minute shoot-out , James V. would be named the winner of the goalies.  Honorable mention to Tyler F. who made it to the semi finals for the shooters.  Great work guys!

The final game was a great game for the boys up against a very good BCH team.   Lucan played an amazing team game dominating all aspects of the match.  Keep up the great work boys, you have come so far since the beginning of the year.  Congratulations to Ryder O. for being named MVP in the final game.
