The season is now in full swing and the kids are making incredible improvements!
I have a few updates to share at this time:
1. Strathroy Jamboree
We're signed up for the Strathroy Jamboree on February 16th. Everyone has confirmed so the cost is $40/skater. I will share the schedule once it is shared.
2. Goalies
The approach for playing goalie is for each skater to take a turn playing net. Where possible this involves being goalie for the Friday practice and then for the game on the weekend (Sat/Sun). If anyone knows they're unavailable on certain weekends please let me know and I'll create a schedule for playing net. We will rotate through the entire team and then I will take volunteers for those who enjoy it.
3. Games - Lucan
We're starting playing games within the Lucan IP program starting this weekend. This will involve 4-on-4 fun games on half-ice for our weekend ice time on Saturday or Sunday. Shifts will likely by 3minutes each and we'll rotate kids evenly.
4. Games - Other centres
Starting in the New Year we'll have games against other centres including Ilderton, Exeter, South Huron, Parkhill, and Strathroy. These are still meant to be fun but it is likely we'll run into games that we dominate or that we get overpowered. Lets make sure we keep the kids positive as we play these games!
Lastly, if you have any feedback on the program please don't hesitate to reach out to myself or a member of the coaching staff. We want to ensure we make this experience the best as possible for the kids so your feedback is important.
