2021-2022 Season Information
Submitted By LMH on Tue 08 31, 21
On behalf of the Lucan Minor Hockey Executive, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2021-22 season!

Our families all seem very excited to get back to the ice and we can’t wait to see the kids back out there doing what they love to do.

All planning made to date includes a return to a ‘normal’ season format.  As we know, normal is taken lightly these days.  We are all expected to continue to follow all guidelines set by Hockey Canada, the OHF, the OWHA,as well the Middlesex-London Health Unit and the Township of Lucan-Biddulph’s Parks & Recreation team.  TheMiddlesex-London Health Unit has also gone as far to recommend that all players 12+ and all volunteers be vaccinated by October 30 th .  This may be mandated, by OMHA, if discussions continue to trend in their current direction.  Read below for current LMHA guidelines.

We are happy to announce the return of tryouts for most age groups.  More details regarding the schedule will be posted to our website in the coming days.

Some important dates and information we can share with you at this time include:

September 13 – OWHA Girls Tryouts begin (U18-U11)

September 24 – OMHA Boys Tryouts begin (U18-U11)

*there will be multiple opportunities for ALL age groups to skate before their designated tryouts – a schedule will be posted to the website soon

*U9 (boys) and U9/8 (girls) players will have player evaluations and split into Tier 1/Tier 2 teams; not a formal tryout

*U8 (boys) and U7 (coed) players will be split as evenly as possible over multiple teams

Current LMHA GuidelinesFacilities/Dressing Rooms/Spectators
New and old policies regarding the use of the Lucan Memorial Arena this season.
 You may arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled ice time
 You must leave the facility within 30 minutes after your ice time
 It is recommended that players arrive dressed in as much hockey equipment as  possible
 Only 9 players are permitted in the dressing room at one time (this does not  include coaches or parents assisting the player (tying skates)
 If a dressing room has 9 players in it, then additional players will need to wait
for a space to open, or put on skates and helmet in chairs provided
outside the dressing rooms
 Please do not rely on coaches to tie players skates – a parent should do this and  then leave the room
 Showers are open and available for use
 Spectators capacity limits have been set at 50% or approximately 1000 people
 Everyone in the facility must wear a mask, unless on the ice
 physical distancing is expected of everyone not from the same household

Health Screening
Every person entering the facility must complete a health screening at the entrance or prior to arriving at the arena. LMH is also required to track the attendance of all individuals entering the facility.    More details below:
 All players, parents, or team staff entering the facility must confirm that they  have answered “No” to all questions on the heath-screening questionnaire,  supported by the SportsHeadz App.  More details will be provided soon.
 - To expedite entry into the arena, we ask that the player and anyone in
your family planning to enter the building complete this questionnaire  prior to leaving your home.   If anyone answers“yes” to any question,  please stay at home.
 All family and/or friends entering the facility to watch, must use the QRL code   provided at the entrance to complete their screening
- If anyone answers “yes” to any of the questions, they are not
permitted to enter the facility.

We all hope for nothing less than an enjoyable and successful season in minor hockey.  Thank you for your patience and continued support while we navigate through these ever-changing times.
If you have any questions, concerns or otherwise, please reach out to your team representatives or a member of our LMHA Executive.

All the best this season!
