Mite Green heads to Beantown
Lucan makes the snowy journey to Zurich on Sunday afternoon
Gametime was set for 2pm on Sunday and everyone was ready to play on the big ice.
The Green squad took to the ice and surveyed the competition even though they seemed a world away on Zurich's big pad.
Puck drop was on time and the play was a back and forth affair for the entire game, with each team exchanging goal scoring opportunities, but today would be all about defense!
Finally just past the halfway marker Zurich netted the first goal of the contest and then a quick second one. It took our skaters a few minutes to react but then they soon tied it up with a couple of quick goals of their own.
The score was deadlocked at 2 for quite some time until Zurich found the back of the net a few more times to take the score to 5-2; where it stayed until the horn sounded to end the game.
Cohen S. was awarded the "Hardest Worker" award for his outstanding passing in the neutral zone as well as in front of the net. Cohen never gave up on the puck and definitely brought his "A" game to Beantown. Congratulations Cohen!!!
Lucan's next matchup is Friday February 3rd when they travel to take on local rivals Ilderton.
