Friday night matchup vs. Ilderton
Ilderton Mite Jets host the the Mite Green Irish for a Friday night showdown
Lucan was in Ilderton for a 5pm tilt with local rivals Ilderton and it turned out to be one of our best games of the season.
Both teams played very well and this made for an exciting game to watch. Whether you were a spectator from the stands or the bench, everyone agreed this was an entertaining battle.
Ilderton opened the scoring early in the game with a quick shot on net that surprised the Lucan netminder. However the Irish stuck to the game plan and worked diligently in the offensive zone and soon tied it up.
It was a see saw battle after the tieing goal and kept the fans on the edge of their seats, until Lucan opened the scoring up late in contest to make the final score 4-1 for the Irish.
The Green roster was firing on all cylinders as they displayed their passing skills, giving each player an opportunity to be on the score sheet. Sarah F. made an unselfish pass to Gracie B. for which turned out to be a near miss and Mitchell B. threaded the needle to Cohen S. out front and he sniped his first goal of the season.
One player stood out on this night however for his offensive and defensive play. Tyler L. played a game of smart hockey and cleared the zone while we were in danger and made a few brilliant offensive plays as well. For this Tyler was handed the "Hardest Worker" award for his outstanding efforts. Congratulation Tyler!!
Our next game is this Sunday when we travel to Parkhill at 9am to take on the North Middlesex Stars. Load up the family because this team is well worth the trip!
