Lucan Green have busy weekend
Lucan Green had 3 games in 4 days over the November 9th weekend.

First up was a home match up against South Huron Black.  Lucan got off to a very good start taking the play to South Huron resulting in many scoring chances.  Lucan scored 3 in the first period on goals from Tyler F., Carter L. and Dylan F.  Assists going to Dylan F. and Joel M..  Lucan was up 3-1 after one period of play.  The game then turned into a defensive battle with both team playing great positionally.  Defense lead by Joel M., Carson V. Aiden M. and Bobby M. kept the Sabres to the perimeter of the rink and James V. stopped all shots coming his way.  Forwards were also a big part of the defensive playing as well, coming back to help the defense and getting the puck out of our end.  There was no scoring in the second period.  In the third Lucan got back on the scoresheet on a goal from Carter H. on a nice passing play from Ben F.  South Huron would get one more goal but Lucan would win 4-2.  Player of the game went to Carter H. who had a great game on the wing, going to the net and helping in the defensive zone.

Next up for Lucan was an exhibition game against St. Mary's.  Lucan took their team work on the road Sunday night.  They were in for a tough match-up but showed no quit.  St. Mary's was swarming Lucan the whole game but our kids battled hard.  James V. manned the net again and made many saves.  St. Mary's scored the first 3 goals of the game but Lucan responded with one of their own on a goal by Dylan F.  Second period was not good to the Green team seeing St. Mary's pot three more leading 6-1 after two periods of play.  Lucan would score one more on a great end to end rush from Joel M..  In the end Lucan was on the losing end of a 9-2 score.  Player of the game went to Mason G.  who played a solid game on the point for Lucan.  Mason did a great job of keeping the puck in the offensive zone as well as protecting his goalie in the defensive zone.  Great work Mason!

Finally Lucan traveled to Lambton Shore Tuesday night to take on the Black team.  Lucan was short staffed playing with 9 players.  Lucan took the play to Lambton Shore early and consistently through out the whole game.  Four minutes into the game Dylan F. scored on a breakaway goal with assist going to Mason G.  The score would stay 1-0 most of the game mainly because of the strong defensive play of Bobby M., Carter L. and Mason G.  along with timely saves from Carson V..  On offence Lucan had many great scoring chances but were unable to bury them.  Lambton Shore scored with 5:26 remaining in the game tying the game at 1.  Lucan would not panic and continued to create chances.  All this work would payoff with 50 seconds remaining when Tyler F. would slam home the game winning goal on a pass from Dylan F..  Ben F., Carter H. and Aiden M. were given the task of shutting Lambton Shore down for the final 50 seconds along with the help of the defensive pair of Bobby M. and Carter L..  The line was up for the task pinning Lambton Shores in their own end and preserving the win.  Great team effort guys!  Player of the game went to Gordon L. who had his best game of the year so far.  Gordon had at least 4 great scoring chances because he went to the net and was ready for the pass.  Keep up the great work Gordon.

Lucan has a match-up against North Middlesex on Saturday.
