Lucan win Consolation Championship in Parkhill Tournament
Team Green participated in the North Middlesex March Break novice tournament over the weekend.

The boys had a great weekend and had lots of fun.

Up first they played the East Lambton White team and played with tons of energy. Lucan would score early and often and come out on the winning side of a 7-0 game. Dylan F,(5) and Tyler F.(2) would do the scoring with Carter L., Tyler F., Carter H., Joel M. and Dylan F., getting the assists. James V would earn the shut out. Player of the game was provided a trophy by the tournament organizers and Joel M. would take home the honours after a stellar game on the point.

Next up was a match against Mount Brydges Red. The team has won one and lost one to Red over the year and this was going to be a tough match. Lucan would get up to a 2-0 lead  on goals from Carter L. and Dylan F. before Red would respond with one of their own. Red would tie the game up with 6 minutes left in the game but Tyler F. would score a shorthanded goal to give Lucan the lead on a pass from Joel M..  Tyler would score another a minute later to regain the two goal lead. Red would score one more goal with 11 seconds left but it would not be enough and green would come away victorious again by a score of 4-3. Dylan F. would get player of the game for Lucan.

Lucan would take on East Lambton White in the 8pm game and continue with their strong play. They took the game to the White team. Lucan would get out to an early lead and before the first minute was over the score was 2-0. Dylan F. started the scoring on a pass from Joel M. and Carter L made it 2-0 on a pass from Dylan F. and Tyler F. Lucan would make it 3-0 three minutes later with Dylan F. scoring on a great passing play from Tyler F. and Carter L. East Lambton scored one before the end of the first period to make the score 3-1. The second period was a scoreless draw but early into the 3rd Lucan would put the game out of reach 26 second into the period Carter L. would score with Tyler F and Dylan F gaining assists. Dylan F would score the fifth and final goal for Lucan and they would sail to a 5-2 victory. James V. was stellar in this match as he made lots of saves and was very deserving of the player of the game honours.

Lucan would play Delhi in the semi-finals. Lucan just never got rolling in this game, never got any bounces and after the first period found themselves down 2-0. Lucan would swarm the net and go away with hitting the post or missing an open shot. With 5 minutes left in the game Carter L. would give his team some life on a pass from Dylan F. and Tyler F. The last 5 minutes Lucan was fighting for the equalizer but was just not able to find the answer. Delhi would score on a goal mouth scramble with 40 seconds left in the game and Lucan would have to settle for the consolation championship game. Aiden M. was crowned player of the game for all his hard work on Defense. Great work Aiden, and tough loss boys.

In the Consolation finals Lucan would get all the bounces they missed in the previous game and would get scoring from 5 different players and all players would register at least a  point. Lucan would put up double digits goals in a game for the first time since November on way to a 10-1 victory over North Middlesex Stars. Scoring for Lucan was Tyler F. (5), Dylan F.(2) Ben F., Carter H. and last but not least Bobby M. Bobby scored on an end to end rush beating the defense and blowing the puck by the Stars goalie. This Bobby Orr like rush helped in earning him the player of the game honours. Great work Bobby. Assists went to Carter L.(3), Carson V., Aiden M., Dylan F., Gordon L., Carter H.(2) and Joel M. What a great team effort boys, eh to bring home the hardware.

The Next week will see Lucan continue their series with Belmont which they are trailer 2-1. Lucan looks to continue their strong play from the weekend on Wednesday in Belmont with hopes of bringing the series back to Lucan on Saturday. Good luck boys!
