Lucan AE has been keeping busy over the last week travelling near and far to challenge their competitors to Lucan’s favourite game…hockey!
Lucan AE’s first regular season game started on September 28th when they hosted North Middlesex. North Middlesex quickly stunned the boys with their lightning speed and strong stick handling. Lucan AE, realizing their potential, quickly lit it up and fought hard to enter their competitor’s zone. Although there was no score on the Lucan scoreboard, by the end of the game the boys were already showing improvements in their teamwork.
An evening drive to Wallaceburg proved to be an exciting adventure for the team. It was clear immediately that their competition this year would be fierce. Wallaceburg struck first burying a goal into our net early into the first period with Lucan quickly retaliating with 2 goals late in the second period. Although the final score was 3-2 Wallaceburg, Lucan AE demonstrated that they were a force to be reckoned with!
Petrolia visited the Irish ice house the afternoon of October 5th. Although their size, speed and skill were intimidating, Lucan AE showed yet again that they were able to skate with the big boys! It was clear today that the boys were becoming comfortable with their positions and their teammates. Lucan AE pushed hard into the offensive zone feeding 3 beautiful rebound goals into their opponent’s net. The development of skill demonstrated so far and so early into the season was a beautiful thing to witness!
