Lucan Mite Green faces a tough opponent in Huron Park
Mite Green faced off against the South Huron Sabre Mites in Huron Park on Saturday and were handed their first loss of the season. A final score of 7-1 for Exeter.
We skated very well and had some good chances but could not hold off the attack of the Exeter team and they took an early lead and never looked back.
The lone Lucan scorer was Sarah F who streaked in on a breakaway and buried it low on the right side. However the score could have been much worse if not for the stellar defensive play of James V.
James stopped 5 clear goals when he was in net and also broke up two plays out front of the Lucan net while playing forward.
For all of James' efforts he was a shoe in for the "Hardest Worker" award. Congratulations James!
Mite Green rolls into this weekend with a double header when they take on rivals Ilderton at home Saturday at 9am and travel to Zurich Sunday afternoon.
