Lucan White play in Southwest Bullets Tournament
Lucan White travelled to Glencoe to take part in the Dave Waller Memorial Tournament. The kids have really come together as a team the last couple weeks and were pumped at the oppurtunity to play two games in a day.
The tournament was the first time many have had to play a game with off-sides, icing and penalties! After some quick and comprehensive points on off-sides before the game the kids were ready to go. The first opponent was Southwest Bullets #2. Lucan got off to a quick start and never looked back. Luke A started the scoring with two in the first shift, assist going to Lane H., Bobby M., Kiera P., and Tom O. Mackenzie H. was the next goal scorer rewarded for going to the net hard. Luke A. made a great pass and Mackenzie buryied it. Dylan F. got onto the scoresheet next scoring the next three with assists going to Carson V., Kiera P. and Lauren D. Luke A. added two more for Lucan with assist going to Bobby M., and Gracie B. Gracie B. rounded out the score with another great effort of going to the net, burying a pass from Dylan F. and Cohen S. When they were not scoring they where shutting down the competition. Lucan was amazing on the defensive end limiting the shots the Bullets had. When called upon James V. made the saves. He was very excited about playing net and it showed. James made a number of great saves. This was an entire team effort yet again and it showed as every skater registered a point in the game. Without even practicing the Powerplay the team was able to convert of their first and probably only powerplay. Great work team! In the end Lucan won the game 9-3. The coaching staff now hands out the three stars of the game since everyone has recieved the Supersport of the game, but we were unable to limit it to three. So the three stars of the game went to four players, Gracie B., Mackenzie H., Dylan F. and Luke A..
Game two had the Lucan squad playing Petrolia. The kids continued their great play. Kiera P. opened the scoring 10 minutes into the game on a rebound. Assists went to Luke A. and Gracie B. Dylan F. made it 2-0 on a pass from Lauren D. and Mackenzie H. Carson V. was next to light the lamp on a great breakaway goal, assists going to Dylan F. and Mackenzie H. Bobby M. was in net for Lucan and he played amazing, thwarting the Petrolia offense at every attempt. Petrolia was finally able to solve Bobby 25 minutes into the game but that was all that Bobby would allow. Dylan F. and Luke A. rounded out the scoring for Lucan, assists credited to Cohen S., Gracie B., James V. and Tom O. Congratulation team winning all the games in the tourney, this must make you Tournament Champs.
