A first game win
Lucan Tyke Gold took on Ilderton White on Saturday, Nov. 3 and fought hard for its first win, 11-7.
The players impressed the coaching staff with their tenacity and their willingness to come back and help goalie Ryder O.
Katie D. led the team with four goals, showcasing her ability use her breakaway speed while keeping good control of the puck.
Sadie L. opened the year's scoring for Tyke Gold with the first of her two goals. Ben F. had a hat trick with two goals scored from well out from the net showing his good sense of when to pass and when to shoot.
Tyler L. scored two of the team's final two goals, but his strong play around the Lucan net was his biggest contribution.
Ryder O.'s strong goaltending presence shut down several Ilderton rushes, but his teammates also helped him out by moving several loose pucks from in front of the net to the corners or up the boards. The coaches were happy to see that.
Grayson P. showed he wasn't shy about engaging the biggest players on the Ilderton team and helped slow down some Ilderton rushes.
It was a strong game for all the players on the team, with good attention to defending and to offence and some fund team spirit. It was a great start to the year.
