Tyke Gold downs Mt. Brydges
Lucan's Tyke Gold team overcame a quick first goal by Mt. Brydges to post a strong 10-4 win on Nov. 10 in Lucan.
The team showed its collective speed backchecking hard to catch Mt. Brydges players on several breakaways.
Ryder O. emerged from his strong play in goal during the team's first game, to lead the team offensively in the Mt. Brydges game with four goals.
Kaiden W. had a solid game in net, controlling the puck with authority, stopping several breakaways and covering up the puck well.
The team did a good job of getting in front of the Mt. Brydges net and was able to pick up several goals from loose pucks. The player without the puck on a rush to the opposition goal is learning to go to the front of the net.
The team is also showing some promise in its passing. On one play, Ben F. patiently carried the puck in his own end, then threw it up the side to Mitchell B., who then whipped the puck to a wide open Katie D. who went and scored on a breakaway for the first of her two goals.
Sadie L. continued her solid offensive play with two more goals and Mitchell B. and Aiden M. both scored their first goals of the season.
