Lucan Tyke Gold was in action again on
Saturday, January 2nd as we hosted the Jets from Ilderton.
Team Gold was anxious to start off the new year on the right skate and came out flying! These two teams recently squared off in our Christmas tournament, so a strong rivalry is alive and growing. Team Gold once again applied the offensive pressure to their opponents, firing numerous good shots and creating terrific scoring chances in the Ilderton end. Kohen Wickens, Colin Dalton, Roman Chalmers, Sofie Pearn, Brycen Watson, and John Robson were the forwards for Lucan this game.
Ethan Lambourn made his season & career debut in net for Team Gold and played terrific, saving shot after shot blasted his direction. It seems Ethan is a natural at the toe save, as he successfully employed that fancy move numerous times. Jacob Gillard, Lachlan Gilcrest and Bryce Robichaud stood tall on defense for Team Gold, as always. The game was fairly evenly matched however Ilderton was able to pull away on the scoreboard at the end. For his great efforts tending goal, Ethan Lambourn was awarded the SuperSport Player of the Game! Great work Ethan and keep it up young man!
Team Gold’s next action is Saturday, January 9th when Mount Brydges comes to town. Go Gold Go!
