Irish take on the Rockets at Home
This morning was our fist home game and our players were ready to put on a show for their adoring fans.

From the drop of the puck you could see that all the hard work at practice is coming into effect.  We looked like a well oiled machine firing on all cylinders against the Strathroy Rockets.

The first 6 minutes  of the game was a  neutral zone battle for the puck by both teams, but come the third shift we flipped the switch and started pouring on the offensive pressure.

With offensive zone rushes came quick and often off the sticks of Cash M. Drew k. Clair W. Kyle V. and Colin W. Finally getting us on to the score sheet was an outstanding defensive zone break out play with the result of a goal coming off the stick of Cohen S. with assists going to Josselyn V. and Spencer R.

Our goalie Lane H. stood tall keeping the Rockets off the score board for almost the entire game keeping our one goal lead intact.  Stopping 4  break away opportunities and covering any puck that came his way stopping play and allowing us to regain puck possession.

We managed to maintain our 1 goal lead until the 7 min mark of the game when the Rockets finally beat us with a blistering shot from the face off circle.

With only 1 min and 30 seconds left in the game which looked like it was going to end in a tie, once again we were able to get back on the board with another game winning goal from Cohen S. for his second of the game with assists going Christian F. and Presley B.

Once again we had some shining plays on defence leading the way on the blue line was both Ethan H. and Nate V. good work guys.

For his two goal game and all round  hustle Cohen S. was rewarded with the player of the Game.

At the sound of the buzzer we found ourselves on the winning side of the score sheet.

Great Job Tyke Green Keep up the good work.

Our next game is at Home against the Mt Brydges Cougars!
