Season Opening Weekend against Strathroy
On Saturday December 7th, we kicked off their 2013-2014 season by
hosting the Strathroy Jr. Rockets Blue team.
The Lucan players couldn't contain their excitement to get this season rolling and with Owen P. starting in goal, it was adding up as a recipe for success. Right from the puck drop, Lucan came ready to play and took the action to Strathroy's end. This game featured great team positioning and several good offensive plays. Jayden M. wowed the crowd with several passes to the front of the net for waiting teammates. Nicole B. netted her first of the season with a great shot from the front of the net. The final score was in favour of Lucan and for his efforts Jayden M. was our Super Sport of the Game and Nicole B. was given our special game puck.
The next morning, bright and early, we travelled to Strathroy to take on the JR. Rockets Red squad. Grayson P. got the call to play net and with a short bench he knew he had to be strong. Lucan came out flying and caught the Red squad off guard. Will M. supplied the firepower as he netted a hat trick to put Lucan up 3 to 0. Gracie W. had a solid game as well as she played great defensively and frustrated the opposition as she stick handled her way around their players. The Strathroy team never gave up though and with our players running out of steam the Red Rockets took a 4 - 3 lead with less then a minute to play and that's how it would end. Gracie was our well deserved Super Sport of the game and Will was awarded our special game puck for his efforts.
