The rival continues...
On Sunday, we were off to Strathroy to face our new rivals - Strathroy Red. After last weekends tournament, our players were reved up to face this team for the third time in just under a week! The fans were ready too!!
Lucas was our man in net and his big smile in the change room let us know he was ready for anything! We had a short bench this game and would be playing with only two lines.
To carry on where we left off with this Strathroy team, many minutes went by before the first goal was scored. The first point was in our favour, earned by Will, with assists from Lachlan and Owen. Then, within a few minutes Strathroy tied it up. We (or should I say Zane) would find the net one more time, with another assist for Owen. Unfortunately, Strathroy would find the net a few more times. Our players really had to give their all in every shift. Owen again demonstrated his "never give up" style of play, and was always digging and skating for the puck. For his efforts he received Player of the Game. Lucas played amazing in net and denied some of Strathroy's top scorers opportunites to score. For his great performance in net, Lucas was awarded the game puck.
Even though we have yet to defeat Strathroy Red, each player needs to be so proud of how they have played each time we have met up with them. The best part, our team is always so positive in the change room and no matter the score, they see themselves as the winners they are! Tyke White Rocks!!
