John Henry Tournament....game one vs. Mount Brydges White
After a short break to spend Christmas with their families, Tyke White was back in action in game one at the John Henry Tournament in Strathroy.
The team arrived at the arena "rested" and ready to lace up and get back to business on the ice!
Lachlan was dressing as goalie, Grayson had his new stick taped and ready to go, and all the players had fun on the brain. The fans were even ready with some awsome signs to cheer their favourite team on....guess we are getting tired of losing our voices every game!!
The game started off as a nail bitter...Mount Brydges scored first but was soon answered by Jack assisted by Grayson and Owen. Several minutes passed tied at 1-1, then Jack and his hot stick sent another one into the Mt.Brydges net, assisted by Jackson and Grayson. Mt.Brydges did not let our lead last long, as they tied it up a few short minutes later. It was at this point our players had enough, and decided to take charge of the game. With another great assist from Grayson, Jack found the net for his third goal of the game. The next two points of the game were scored byZane, assisted by Cohen and Will found the net with yet another assist from Grayson. Mt. Brydges did squeek another goal in - or should I say rode another puck in on top of Lachlan! Finally, the last goal was scored by Jack, assisted by Cohen.
It is fantastic to see our players setting themselves up, taking charge of their positions, whether it be centre, defence or wing. Lachlan even commented on how awesome his defence was today!! It is awesome to see our kids having fun, and seeing their hard work rewarded by a victory!
Tomorrow we face Ilderton Jets White.
